Sorry for my delay in updates. Almost two weeks ago I suffered a pretty sever hand injury when unloading Tammers from my friends’ horse trailer. Thank goodness no broken bones, but the injury was on my right hand (my dominant) so it was quite inhibiting for awhile. Needless to say, my hand was crushed between a tied lead rope (still attached to a 1,000lb horse trying to back out of the trailer) and the inside of the trailer wall. I had quite a bit of swelling bruising and some nasty abrasions on the surface. Quite a bit of nerve damage too.

not sure the photo does it justice, but you get a general idea. So, I instantly began consulting my friend and medicine woman over at Anima, Bear Medicine Herbals, Kiva Rose.  She filled with me with knowledge on herbs like Nettles, Oat, Comfrey, Cottonwood, and Chapparal. The healing power of these plant allies have fascinated me. I believe my injury has healed much quicker with than without………

All has scabbed up really nice, great new skin growth, swelling is gone, and the bruising on it’s way out after only 10 days. I’ve been  using the herbs in hand soaks, drinking them in teas, taking them in tinctures and using them topically as salves. It brings me back to this place of innate primal ancient knowing when working with herbs. It’s like this ancestral information begins to bubble to the surface, and I feel connected to old friends.

Anyway. Here’s to healing and STRONG BONES! Thanks Grandma for those genes.
