Well after our lovely weekend getaway and escape from reality, back at home, it’s back to the grind. Riley is back in school and very bummed. She is counting the weeks to Kindergarten graduation on May 16th.  Luckily, Patrick is on Spring Break until April 7th. So, we are totally taking advantage of him being around. Our list includes installing a deck off the back door, building a chicken coop and helping me with some landscaping. All of which is taking place in 30-40 mile an hour winds with gusts up to 50mph. Oh, yeah, we are burly!

However, we couldn’t be more grateful for the free decking material received by one of my many and wonderful moms, Liz.  So, we are super excited about not having to walk directly into a sea of mud, clay and dirt the minute we head out our back door.

Today marked the deck kick-off, Patrick with his amazing pitchfork and shovel, single handedly dug out and leveled our decking area. I would have helped, but he was almost done by the time Abby and I returned from her dance class and a major grocery shopping trip! I SWARE! Tomorrow the frame goes in…………..

Riley has already biffed it once stepping out the door and forgetting the ground is now 6 inches lower than what it previously was. The plan is to have it done by Wednesday before anyone else gets seriously hurt ;-)
